CHITRAL: A protest public meeting was held at Sosom valley (Karimabad) polo ground under the chair of Syed Jamat Shah. Addressing to the public meeting the speakers said that since creation of Pakistan no developmental project was complete in this scenic valley consisting on more than 14000 population. They said that there is no higher secondary school or college for boys or girls, no Basic Health Unit, no Utility store and other facility. They said that Hasanabad Bridge was damaged by tremendous flood in 2010 but it could not complete in 5 years.
They said that main road of Sosom and Karimabad valley is in a very dilapidated condition taking 3 hours this only 25 kilometers road because of having big ditches and no side wall and having so many blind turn. They said that more than 11 precious lives were lost due to road mishap on this road in different accidents. They said that the area is still deprived from electricity facility in this modern era of information technology. But a micro hydro power house supply low voltage electricity which was established by an NGO.
They lamented Member National Assembly Iftikharuddin who announced that Sosom road was handed over to Communication and Works department and also criticized Member Provincial Assembly Saleem Khan who claimed that the road was handed over to C&W by his efforts but the road is still in poor condition in practically and no work still started in 2 years of their announcement.
They said that due to no health facility people of the valley carry their women folk during pregnancy to Chitral hospital but some time they deliver baby on the way or expire before reaching hospital due to bad condition of the road. Through an unanimous resolution they demanded for starting work on Hasanabad bridge and Sosom road immediately.  
They given dead line upto 1st Feb if the construction of Hassanabad bridge and Sosom road was not started they will came on roads and will kick protest on large scale. Muhammad Yaqub, Sultan Shah, Syd Niyat Shah,  Panah Kham and Syd Mazhar Hussain etc spoke on the occasion. The speakers appeal to Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chief Minister KPK for releasing their discretionary fund for construction of 25 Kilometers Sosom Karimabad road which take so many lives every year in road accidents. As well as establishment of BHU, Colleges for boys and girls and Utility store.
A large number of people from the entire valley were present on the  occasion of public protest for their genuine rights.
It was decided during the protesting public meeting that residents of the area will start work on Hasanabad bridge on self help basis. And thy will carry its broken wood which will be replaced with the financial support of some NGOs and general public.
