Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government through its own resources have provided Rs.21 billion under Conditional Grant for provision of missing facilities in government schools. Atif Khan

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary & Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan has said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government through its own resources have provided Rs.21 billion under Conditional Grant for provision of missing facilities in government schools out of which Rs. 19 million have been utilized while the remaining would be utilized till June 2017 and the same would solve the problems of missing basic facilities in schools on a permanent basis. He expressed these views while addressing as chief guest at a one day awareness workshop on conditional grant for Nazimeen held under the auspices of Elementary & Secondary Education Department. Secretary Education Dr. Shahzad Bangash, Secretary Local Government Syed Jamalud-Din Shah, Additional Secretary Education Qaiser Alam, DG Local Government Aamir Latif, Director Schools Rafiq Khattak, District Nazimeen and DEOs attended the workshop. Secretary Education and Secretary Local Government informed the Nazimeen in detail about the conditional grant while Nazimeen pinpointed thier hurdles in the use of conditional grant. The concerned authorities while assuring the removal of hurdles said the basic purpose of the workshop was to ensure the better use of conditional fund in the domain of law.
Muhammad Atif said our government for the first time in the history of the province has allocated more than Rs. 100 billion for education as we know that nations are made through provision of best quality education. He regretted that education was not the priority of the past government. Muhammad Atif Khan informed that his government had spent Rs. 5 billion over the establishment of 1100 IT Laboratories in government schools, Rs. 4 billion over provision of furniture to 14 lac children while play areas in 2500 schools out of 10 thousand schools have been established while 40 thousands teachers out of 55 thousands have been recruited on merit.
